Anchoring Your Bins

Installation for Bins & Gravel Based Structures The anchors holding
power is dependent upon its depth into firm soil, not gravel or rocks.
For Hopper Bottoms on gravel:
1) Dig out gravel
2) Screw anchor into firm soil up to loop
3) Attach cable or chain to anchor
4) Bring cable up to outside of skid and loop around the leg
5) Go back over skid to anchor, connect and tighten
6) Replace the gravel

Fencing with Anchors in the Twenty First Century

6" Anchors
Shaft: ¾" hot rolled mild steel.
Disc: ¼" x 6" from A36 plate and Teflon coated to prevent soil from sticking to disk.
Overall Length: 72" and 43".
Finish: electrolytically galvanized.
Sharp parallel cutting edge for easier & more consistent penetration.
Recommened Uses: Big game fencing, large bins, fencing in wet or soft soils, stabilizing large heavy structures in softer soils.

4" Anchors
Shaft: 5/8" hot rolled mild steel.
Disc: 3/16" x 4" from A36 plate.
Overall Length: 43".
Finish: electrolytically galvanized.
Sharp parallel cutting edge for easier & more consistent penetration.
Pull out strength: 4000 lbs. plus
(Alberta Machine Testing Institute, Lethbridge).
Recommended Uses: Fences, bins, trailers, construction.

3" Anchors
Shaft: 5/8" hot rolled mild steel.
Disc: 3/16" x 3" from A36 plate with modified edge.
Overall Length: 43".
Finish: electrolytically galvanized.
Pull Out Strength: Similar to 4" in hard soil.
Recommened Uses: To be used in soil too hard for 4" to penetrate.

2" Anchors
Shaft: 3/8" hot rolled mild steel.
Disc: 1/8" x 2" from A36 plate.
Overall Length: 29".
Finish: electrolytically galvanized.
